How to edit in the DAX Copilot desktop application
Do you find using Dragon Medical One for dictation and voice commands comfortable, or do you prefer documenting with a keyboard, monitor, and mouse? If the latter suits you better, editing in the desktop app might be ideal. Here’s how to get started.
How to edit in the DAX Copilot desktop app
1. Open a summary
Select a summary from your Summaries list.
2. Review the summary for accuracy
Check the summary carefully.
(Optional) Use the transcript to verify details and ensure the full patient story is captured.
Tip: Press Ctrl+F to quickly search for specific words in the summary or transcript.
3. Start editing
-
Select the Edit button to open the summary in the editing screen.
-
All edits must be made in the Summary tab — the transcript cannot be edited.
-
Once in Edit mode, you can’t add more DAX Copilot recordings for this visit, but you can still use Dragon to dictate additional information.
4. Make your edits
-
Place your cursor in the section you want to change.
-
Use your microphone for dictation or voice commands, or simply type with your keyboard and mouse.
-
There’s no “Save” button — all changes are saved automatically and synced with the mobile app.
Best practices for editing in the desktop app
-
Review and edit for accuracy. AI will save you time, but it's not perfect. Always review and edit the summary before signing to ensure accuracy.
-
Use the transcript to verify details as needed. Use the transcript as a reference to organize and complete your documentation. Verify details to ensure the full patient story is captured.
-
Use Dragon Medical One features to edit. Use Dragon for dictation, voice commands, Auto-texts, and Step-by-step commands while editing.
