Symptoms
Assume that you create a SQL Trace Collection Set by using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) in Microsoft SQL Server 2016. When you right-click the SQL Trace Collection Set and select "Collect and Upload Now", it will return a successful message. However, the trace data is not collected, and the job history will show an error message that resembles the following:
"An error occurred while assigning a value to variable "TraceStartTime": "Single Row result set is specified, but no rows were returned."."
