If you make significant hardware changes on your device, such as replacing your motherboard, Windows will no longer find a license that matches your device, and you’ll need to reactivate Windows to get it up and running.

Start the replacement process online. Important: Surface devices shipped in for service can't be repaired and must be replaced. We highly recommend that you back up your data if you can do so. Accessory replacement If you purchased an Xbox accessory within the last 30 days, you can return it to the retailer with your original proof of purchase. If you purchased the accessory more than 30 days ago, but within the accessory warranty period, you can order a replacement accessory from Device services (console registration is required).

Select Update Driver. If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions. Reinstall the device driver. In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager.
