Switch to SharePoint in Microsoft 365 from Google Sites and start working together with these quick instructions on how to access, upload, and share the content, information, and apps your team relies on with SharePoint in Microsoft 365.

Note: Features and information in this guide apply to SharePoint in Microsoft 365 as available through Microsoft 365.

  • Files can be displayed on a page, linked to on a page, or added to a document library.

  • Files can be checked out or unshared to prevent changes.

  • Users can get notifications when a file or site changes.

  • Find things your colleagues are working on, news relevant to you, recently used sites, and sites based on recent searches or suggested by the Microsoft Graph.

  • Connected experiences such as People cards that surface content and details from your colleagues’ profiles.

  • Files are co-authored within Drive.

  • Files from Drive can be linked to on a page or added to a file cabinet.

  • Files can be locked to prevent changes.

  • Users can get notifications when a file changes.

Manage documents

  • Files can be created on the site or added from another location and displayed in thumbnail view or list view.

  • Build workflows and develop custom apps with Flow and PowerApps integration in document libraries and lists.

  • Files, images, and conversations are created and accessed from outside the site in Drive and email.

Sync files for offline use and uploading

  • Files stored on SharePoint sites can be synced locally for offline use and for uploading to the site for sharing.
