In Microsoft Teams (free) on desktop and web, you can take your ideas and create high-quality announcement banners for your community using the latest DALL∙E and generative AI with Designer. Let Designer spark your creativity and help customize your unique creation.

There are different ways to use Designer in Microsoft Teams (free). You can describe the image you want to generate, and Designer generates an image based on your prompt. If you want to add an image from your device or generate or explore ideas from existing images, you can do that too.

Create a community announcement banner

  1. Go to the community where you want to use Designer.

  2. Select Announcement, then the Background image Create with Designer button in Teams button.

  3. You can do the following:

    • Type a description and use an existing image. In the text box, type a description of a design you'd like to create. Then select from existing images based on your prompt.

    • Add image button Add image.  Upload a picture from your device.

    •   Generate image buttonGenerate image. Try an example powered by DALL∙E 3. In the text box, type a description of a design you'd like to create. Then Designer generates images for you to select from based on your prompt.

Tip: For the best use of the AI image powered DALL∙E, use phrases instead of single-word descriptions when describing what you want to create.

    • Explore ideas.  View and select from existing images.

  4. After you've selected an image, you can select Customize to change the size, text, and layout.

  5. When you're ready, select Done to add the image to your community announcement. A message is required to post your announcement, but you'll also have the option to add a sub header if you'd like.

  6. Select Post to post your announcement to the community.
