Follow the steps below to find and use default customizable templates for each of the three sections that support them. 

Apply a customizable template on demand

If you occasionally need to use specialized formatting for a specific type of encounter or circumstance, you can design a customizable template and apply it to the note section as needed - without setting it as the default format for the summary section.

To apply a customizable template on demand:

  1. Open the Note tab.

  2. Select the library icon library icon beside the Allergies, Physical Exam, or Assessment and Plan note sections.

  3. Select the customizable template. (The note section will regenerate in customized format.)

Set a customizable template as the default style

  1. Select the gear icon  settings icon ​​​​​​​beside the Apply my style button to display the Style section in Settings.

  2. Navigate to the Allergies, Physical Exam, or Assessment and Plan note section. The Customizable template format option appears at the bottom of the section.

Expand the style panel for ease of use

Expand the Style panel to work with settings in a larger view. Select the expand icon  maximize icon in the upper right of the screen.

Select the customizable template format option

  1. Navigate to the Allergies, Physical Exam, or Assessment and Plan section. 

  2. Select the Customizable template option at the bottom of the section.

    Each section contains a default customizable template.

    • Try using the default template before making edits.

    • You may find that it provides the AI output you need for that section.

Notes: 

  • If you select Customizable template as the format option for a section, DAX Copilot will use the instructions in the template to generate the output for that section instead of the default output for your Primary specialty. 

  • Templates apply only to the specific section to which they are assigned. Example: A Physical Exam template only affects the Physical Exam section. There is no template that covers the entire note.

  • If you do not see a template option in any of the three supported sections, contact your administrator.

Include customizable templates when applying your style

If you select a Customizable template as the default format for one or more note sections, you can apply them automatically or manually along with your other style preferences.

Options:

  1. Enable Auto-style in Settings to apply your template(s) and other style settings to every note DAX Copilot generates.

  2. If Auto-style is disabled, select the Apply my note style button to apply all your style settings on-demand.
