Why review in DAX Copilot?

When you review AI-generated clinical content and insights in DAX Copilot, it ensures accuracy and completeness before finalizing your note in Epic.

What's in the Note tab in DAX Copilot?

The initial note in the Note tabcontains summary information generated by DAX Copilot from your recordings, organized into the SmartSections for HPI, Results, Physical Exam, and Assessment & Plan.

Important: 

  • The Note tab only shows SmartSections from DAX Copilot.

  • It does not include SmartLinks or SmartPhrases.

  • Insert SmartSections in Epic’s Note activity for them to appear in your Epic note.

Where the content comes from

Every time you create a new recording, DAX Copilot updates the clinical summaries in the Note tab and sends the updated content to your Epic system. When this happens, you'll see a new note version card in the Timeline in DAX Copilot. Previous note versions appear in the Version history in the Note tab.

Tip: Create another recording to capture additional information for the SmartSections before making edits. New note versions generated from additional recordings won't include any manual edits you make in DAX Copilot or in Epic.

Determine if the note is complete

Select the split view icon split view icon to display two tabs side-by-side while reviewing the note.

  • Compare previous and current Note versions.

  • Compare the Note and Transcript

Tip: use CTRL+F (in Windows) or ⌘+F (in iOS) to search the Note and Transcript.

  • Generate and review the responses from AI feature prompts in the Timeline tab while reviewing your note - such as Summarize diagnosis evidence. See AI Capabilities in DAX Copilot for Epic to learn more.

Give feedback to improve AI output

DAX Copilot uses AI. Help improve the quality and accuracy of the AI generated summaries by providing feedback.

  • Select the Note feedback icon to rate the summaries and submit comments.

Get the results you want

DAX Copilot generates your note sections from the transcripts of the recordings you create and the style preferences you set.

To improve quality and reduce edits:

  • Ensure recordings are clear and complete.

  • Position your device close for accurate capture.

  • Use best-practice verbalization methods (See Best practices for recording in DAX Copilot to learn more).

  • Add another recording to capture any missing details.
