Choose when to play sounds

By default, Lync plays sounds with certain events. However, there may be times when you don’t want to hear sounds, such as when you have set your status to Do Not Disturb.

Stop all Lync sounds

  • View Ringtones and Sounds options, and then, clear the Play sounds in Lync (including ringtones for incoming alerts and IM alerts) check box.

Set specific sounds

  1. View Ringtones and Sounds options, click the Sound Settings button.

  2. In the Sound dialog box, click the Sounds tab.

  3. Under Program Events, scroll down to Microsoft Lync 2010.

  4. Click an event (such as Call Ended).

  5. In the Sounds list, click a sound file. To hear it, click Test.
