When you first launch the Xbox app on a compatible smart TV, you’ll be provided with a QR code and URL to follow to complete sign in on another device. If you have an existing Xbox profile, make sure you sign in using that same account.

There are different ways to remove apps and programs, so if you can't find the one you're looking for, you can try another location. Note that some apps and programs are built into Windows and can't be uninstalled. You can try to repair a program first, if it's just not running correctly.

You can change your gamerpic any time you want using the Xbox app on mobile. Choose from the Xbox library of gamerpics, or add your own image directly from your mobile device.

Before you can use Authenticator as a way to sign in, you need to download the app and have already added Authenticator to your accounts. Starting July 2025, the autofill feature in Authenticator will stop working, and from August 2025, passwords will no longer be accessible in Authenticator.

To learn how to activate using a product key, follow the steps at Activate using a product key. A product key is a 25-character code, that looks like this: PRODUCT KEY: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. During installation, you'll be prompted to enter a product key.

Follow the instructions to sign in to Manage your payments and use the Investigate feature. You’ll be prompted to enter your credit card’s security details and then select the charge you don’t recognize to find out which Microsoft account was used to make that purchase.

The Microsoft Authenticator app helps you sign into your accounts when you're using two-step verification.

Go to Settings, and then select Profile > Join Xbox Live. Enter your first name, your Microsoft account email address, and your Microsoft account password.
