Send digitally signed messages as clear text if you want to make sure that your digitally signed messages can be opened by all recipients, even if they do not have an S/MIME mail application and can't verify the certificate.

Before you can import a digital ID (Certificates), you need to already have the digital ID and know where it is on your device. Use the following instructions to either import or export a digital ID in new Outlook.

If you want to insert a digital signature into an email, you need to install a digital ID (certificate), which is verified by a third party. Before you can send and receive messages with encryption or digital signatures, or digital IDs, please follow the instructions to set up encryption in Outlook.

Certificates are moved to the device via email. You will need to export a password-protected .pfx file, and email it to yourself. Then tap on that .pfx file to install it onto the device/Outlook mobile. The following image shows how manual certificate delivery works in iOS.

When you send a digitally-signed macro or document, you also send your certificate and public key. Certificates are issued by a certification authority, and like a driver’s license, can be revoked.

To see details about the certificate, click View Certificate. The email encryption certificate details for the messages that you send or receive can be reviewed.

If you purchased a Microsoft 365 subscription from a third-party retailer, such as Amazon, Apple, Best Buy, or Google Play, please contact them directly to manage your subscription and billing.

Open the Outlook for iOS app on your iOS device. Select Add Account to add one of your existing email accounts, or Create New Account if you want to create a new Microsoft account. If you select Add Account, enter your email address and follow the prompts to authenticate the account. Outlook may detect and pre-select your email account.

Microsoft Intune delivers certificates automatically to Outlook for iOS. To obtain or renew your certificates, please follow the instructions in the notification or email you received from Company Portal.
