The most common type is a physical, external keyboard that plugs into your PC. But Windows has a built-in Accessibility tool called the On-Screen Keyboard (OSK) that can be used instead of a physical keyboard. You don’t need a touchscreen to use the OSK.

Cast to a display from a Windows PC. You can wirelessly connect your PC to a TV, projector, or other kind of external display that supports Miracast. Turn on your TV, projector, or other display. If you're using a Miracast dongle or adapter, make sure it's plugged in to the display.

Some apps let you manage background activity, which determines what they can do when they’re in the background and not actively in use. Apps that can run in the background can send and receive notifications, sync information, and stay up to date.

Sending a message. If you haven't already set up messages, do the following: On your PC, in the Phone Link, select Messages. To start a new conversation, select New message. Enter the name or phone number of a contact. Select the person you want to send a message to.

You can import photos and videos you have stored on a camera’s SD card, a USB drive, a phone, or on another device. Here's how: Use a USB cable to connect your device to the PC. In the search box on the taskbar, type photos and then select the Photos app from the results. Select Import from the app bar.

Check the Xbox services, games, and apps for any service outages.

Windows 11 Windows 10. To use your camera with apps on Windows 11, you'll need to turn on some permissions in Camera settings. Then, you'll need to check your app permissions if you want to use your camera with apps. Here's how:

Enable a camera. You can see the cameras that are connected to your device and change the default settings for those cameras (such as brightness, contrast, and more). With administrator access, you can also disable and enable cameras for the device.
