There are a number of possible explanations for why verification codes don't always arrive. Read through the list of the most common causes, and see if any of them apply to you, or use our troubleshooter to help guide you. Start

With a non-qualifying plan, you don't have access to the app's extra features, but you can do the following: Create and view files. Do basic editing (for non-business accounts and files). Without a subscription, you'll see a message to purchase the subscription when accessing a premium feature.

The Microsoft Lens app will be retired from iOS and Android devices starting October 25, 2025, and will no longer be supported after December 25. You can continue to scan documents in the app until January 25, 2026.

If you don't have the Microsoft Authenticator app for iOS, select Download now. Tip: You can scan a QR code or send a link to your mobile device to download the Authenticator app from the Authenticator app page. After you've downloaded Authenticator, select Next. Select the phone method to receive codes by text.
