Fix Bluetooth problems in Windows. If you run into problems trying to connect to a Bluetooth device, here are some troubleshooting steps to try. Note: For general info about how to connect a Bluetooth device to your PC, see Pair a Bluetooth device in Windows.

Select Choose a method and then Authenticator app. Follow the on-screen instructions, including using your mobile device to scan the QR code, and then select Next. You'll be asked to approve a notification through the Microsoft Authenticator app, to verify your information. Select Save.

If you are unsure if your device meets the Windows 11 minimum system requirements and have Windows 10 already installed, you can download the PC Health Check app, which will assess eligibility and identify components of your device that don't meet the minimum requirements.

Choose the power mode that works for you and what you want to do on your Windows 11 PC. This lets you determine what’s important to you—getting the best battery life, best performance, or a balance between the two. To change the power mode, select Start > Settings > System > Power & battery.

USB-C overview. Install and use a scanner in Windows 10. When you connect a scanner to your device or add a new scanner to your home network, you can usually start scanning pictures and documents right away. If your scanner doesn't automatically install, here's some help to get things working.

Select Start > Settings > System > Sound. In Input, select a microphone to see its properties. In Input volume, make sure the blue bar adjusts as you speak into the microphone. If it doesn't, go to Test your microphone and Start test. This will help you troubleshoot any issues with your microphone.

Nearby sharing in Windows lets you share documents, photos, links to websites, and more with nearby devices by using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. You can share files between PCs that are running Windows 10 or Windows 11.

Select Taskbar corner overflow. Find the app you want to hide and select Off. The notification area is located at the right end of the taskbar. It contains icons you might find yourself selecting or pressing pretty often: battery, Wi-Fi, volume, Clock and Calendar, and action center.
