  1. Place the cursor where you want to insert a symbol, then go to Insert > Symbol.

  2. On the Font menu, select (normal text). Then scroll down through the grid to browse through the many accented characters available.

    Note: Switching to a different font can affect which symbols are available.

  3. Choose a symbol, then select Insert. When you're through inserting characters, select Close.
