We block apps that could damage your PC or cause you to lose data. This sometimes includes apps that worked with a previous version of Windows. If an app won't open after you updated to Windows 10, it probably isn't compatible.
We recommend checking for a new or updated version of the app online. See Overview of device and driver installation for more information. If you don't find a newer version, you can:
- Use the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter to make older programs compatible.
- Install new drivers.
- Uninstall and reinstall an app that isn't working.
- If you got the app from the Microsoft Store, find it in the Start menu, right-click it, then select Uninstall. Then install the app again.
- If you didn't get the app in the Microsoft store, select the Start button, select Settings > Apps, then, if it's available, select Uninstall for the app that isn't working (some apps can't be uninstalled). Then install the app again.
