INTRODUCTION

Microsoft has released an update for the 32-bit and the 64-bit editions of Microsoft OneNote 2010. This update provides the latest fixes for the 32-bit and the 64-bit editions of OneNote 2010. Additionally, this update contains stability and performance improvements.

Issue that this update fixes

  • The Link Note Taking feature does not work with Internet Explorer on Turkish versions of Windows.

  • You experience the following ink shifting issues on a Tablet PC:

    • Ink moves when you click Undo.

    • Ink shifts when you paste or insert certain content into OneNote 2010.

    • Ink shifts around when you use the Insert Space feature.

    • Ink moves because of a collision resolution.

To determine the version of the files that are installed on the computer, follow these steps, as appropriate for the operating system that you are running.Windows 7

  1. Click Start, and then clickComputer.

  2. In the Search Computer box, typeOnmain.dll, and then press ENTER.

  3. Right-click Onmain.dll, and then clickProperties.

  4. On the General tab, note the properties of the Onmain.dll file that is installed on the computer.

Windows Vista
  1. Click Start Start Button , and then click Search.

  2. Click Advanced Search.

  3. In the Location box, click Local Hard Drives.

  4. In the Name box, typeOnmain.dll, and then clickSearch.

  5. In the list of files, right-clickOnmain.dll, and then clickProperties.

  6. On the General tab, note the properties of the Onmain.dll file that is installed on the computer.

Windows XP
  1. Start Search Companion. To do this, clickStart, and then click Search.Note If Windows Desktop Search starts, click Click here to use Search Companion.

  2. In the Search Results window, click All files and folders in the Search Companion pane.

  3. In the All or part of the file name box, type Onmain.dll, and then click Search.

  4. In the list of files, right-clickOnmain.dll, and then clickProperties.

  5. On the General tab and on theVersion tab, note the properties of the Outlfltr.dat file that is installed on the computer.

How to uninstall this update

  1. Click Start, and then clickRun.

  2. Type appwiz.cpl, and then clickOK.

  3. Use one of the following procedures, depending on the operating system that you are running:

    • Windows 7 and Windows Vista

      1. Click View installed updates.

      2. In the list of updates, locate and then click update 2288640, and then click Uninstall.

    • Windows XP

      1. Click to select the Show updatescheck box.

      2. In the list of updates, locate and then click update 2288640, and then click Remove.
