Summary

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 hotfix package that is dated April 21, 2011.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

This hotfix improves the performance of the User Profile Synchronization service in Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010. Underneath are some key areas of improvement:
- The speed at which a profile is synchronized is improved.
- All steps of a profile synchronization are performed and then displayed in the history.
- A new view which shows a profile synchronization state is added.
Consider the following scenario:
- You create a custom site definition in SharePoint Foundation 2010.
- You create a custom feature receiver. This custom feature receiver creates some Taxonomy field as site columns during site provisioning time.
- Several users try to create new sites at the same time. Specifically, these sites are based on the custom site definition that you created.
In this scenario, the creations of all the new sites fail.
