This article describes the Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 issue that is fixed in the hotfix package that is dated June 28, 2011.

INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

  • In some scenarios, the shape format is lost when you use the Format Painter function in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010.

  • When you copy double-byte character set (DBCS) text to PowerPoint 2010, some characters in the text are corrupted. This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:

    • The text is in rich text format (RTF).

    • The text contains 256 characters or more.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
