- You enable the change data capture (CDC) feature on a large database that has many tables in SQL Server 2008 R2, in SQL Server 2008 or in SQL Server 2012.
For example, the database has more than 400 tables.
- You create a full backup of the database.
- You try to restore the database on a different computer.
In this scenario, slow performance occurs, and the restore process takes more time compared to the restore process in which the CDC feature for the same database is not enabled.
To resolve this issue, apply the following hotfix and then use the -T3101 trace flag to restore the database.
Note When the -T3101 trace flag is used, the restore process bypasses a CDC upgrade operation that is associated with this issue.
