Symptoms

A user cannot join a Microsoft Lync 2010 conference until the meeting join page is refreshed.

Note This issue occurs if the update that is mentioned in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 2500441 is applied to Lync Server 2010.

Cause

This issue occurs because the browser does not download the latest Join launcher JavaScript file and use a cached JavaScript file. This JavaScript file is updated in the update that is mentioned in KB article 2500441.

Resolution

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
