Symptoms

When you add more than 42 addresses to the Profiles Systems in Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 or in Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 R2, the address list is truncated to 42 addresses. Additionally, you do not receive an error message.

Note The address list of the Profiles System is stored in the u_addresses column of the UserObject table in Commerce Server 2009 and in Commerce Server 2009 R2.

Cause

This issue occurs because the Profile System code cannot correctly handle the situation in which many updates are made to a multivalued Profile property.

For example, the Profile System code cannot save more than 42 addresses in the Addresses property that is stored in the UserObject table.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, apply the following hotfix. After you apply the hotfix, the u_addresses column of the UserObject table might have to be changed to use the nvarchar(max) SQL data type in order to save more than 42 addresses.

Note The u_addresses column is created and uses the nvarchar(255) SQL data type in the default Profile schema.
