Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You create an application to play .mp3 audio files on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device.

  • The .mp3 audio file contains ID3 tags.

  • You change a playback position by using the IMediaSeeking::SetPositions method of the DirectShow Interface.

In this scenario, the audio file is played from the previous position instead of the position that is passed by the SetPositions method.

Cause

This problem occurs because the MPEG1 splitter filter passes an incorrect offset of the file that does not include the ID3 tag header size to the source filter.
