Symptoms
Assume that you run a web-based application in Internet Explorer 10 on a Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012-based computer. When you click a link in the application, the application crashes. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
(NTSTATUS) 0xc000041d - An unhandled exception was encountered during a user callback.
Cause
This issue is caused by a null pointer exception in MSHTML.
Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. To do this, go to the following Microsoft website:
