Symptoms
When you run a statement or job that executes the sys.fn_xe_file_target_read_file stored procedure in a Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or SQL Server 2008 R2 environment, the following error message is logged in the SQL Server error log:
Using 'dbghelp.dll' version '4.0.5'
Cause
The issue occurs because the DBGhelp.dll file is loaded every time that the statement or job executes the sys.fn_xe_file_target_read_file stored procedure.
Resolution
The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.
Cumulative Update 12 for SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 /en-us/help/2938478
Cumulative update 6 for SQL Server 2012 SP1 /en-us/help/2874879
