Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have an instance of SQL Server installed on a computer.

  • You have Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Management Studio (SSMS 2012) or SQL Server 2014 Management Studio (SSMS 2014)installed on a client computer.

  • You connect to the instance of SQL Server by using SSMS on the client computer.

  • You type some Transact-SQL statements in the Query Editor in SSMS.

In this scenario, the IntelliSense feature does not work correctly.Note This issue typically occurs when the connection between SQL Server and the client is slow.
