Symptoms

When you install or configure a Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 server, port 808 for Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) is assumed to be open in Windows Firewall. If port 808 is closed, the search feature on the SharePoint Server 2013 server fails.

More Information

To prevent this issue, port 808 must be opened before installation of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013.
