This article describes an issue that when the Distributed File System Replication (DFSR) service calls a BeginTransaction method on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1)-based server or a Windows Server 2012 R2-based server, the DFSR service may freeze.
To resolve this issue, we have released an update rollup for Windows Server 2012 R2, and we have released a hotfix for Windows Server 2008 R2.
Get the update rollup for Windows Server 2012 R2To resolve this issue, install the November 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2.
Get the hotfix for Windows Server 2008 R2A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
