Windows Journal crashes when you import a Word document that contains pictures in Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012

Symptoms


Consider the following scenario:

  • You have update 2971850 installed on a computer that is running Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012.
  • You try to import a Microsoft Word document that contains pictures into Windows Journal on the computer.
In this scenario, Windows Journal crashes.

Resolution


To resolve this issue, we have released a hotfix for Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012.

Get the hotfix for Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
