Introduction

This article describes an issue that occurs when you convert the Windows socket mode from nonblocking to blocking in Windows Embedded Compact 2013. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

Assume that you convert the Windows socket mode from nonblocking to blocking by using the WSAEventSelect (SOCKET s, WSAEVENT hEventObject, long lNetworkEvents) function. However, if the hEventObject parameter is not set to NULL and the lNetworkEvents parameter is set to zero, a handle leak occurs in the kernel.

Note When the hEventObject parameter is set to NULL, this issue does not occur. However, when the lNetworkEvents is set to zero, the value of the hEventObject parameter can be ignored.
