This article describes an issue that occurs when you perform virtual machine (VM) replications in Windows Server 2012 R2. A hotfix is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this hotfix, check out the Prerequisites section.
VM replications fail with an error, and event 5120 (return value/code is 0xc0000435 that is "STATUS_PURGE_FAILED") is logged in the Cluster Shared Volumes File System (CSVFS) logs. Eventually, cluster service makes Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV) offline. This leads to the failure of VMs.
- This issue does not occur if the owner node of VM and the owner node of CSV are the same.
- SCVMM represents System Center Virtual Machine Manager.
