Symptoms

Assume that you have restored a full backup and a differential backup of an in-memory online transaction processing (OLTP) database in Microsoft SQL Server 2014 on a new server. When you then try to back up the database, the operation fails, and you receive the following error message:

Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.Msg 41391, Level 23, State 0Backup of database <database name> detected a missing MEMORY_OPTIMIZED_DATA file with ID < file id>.

Resolution
