This article describes the issues that are fixed in an update for Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2016 Technical Preview 4. Before you apply this update, check out the Installation instructions.

Issues that are fixed in this update

  • Issue 1

    When you create a new virtual machine by using the Create Virtual Machine Wizard, Windows Server 2016 Technical Preview 4 does not appear in the list of available operating systems that you can install on the new virtual machine.

  • Issue 2

    If you set up a Software Defined Network (SDN) that you are managing by using VMM, the virtual machines that are connected through the virtual network lose connectivity after 24 hours.

Update for Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2016 Technical Preview 4 is available for download from Microsoft Download Center.

To manually install the update packages, run the following command at an elevated command prompt:

msiexec.exe /update <packagename> Note In this command, <packagename> represents the actual package name.

For example, to install the update for Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2016 Technical Preview 4 (KB3119301), run the following command:

msiexec.exe /update kb3119301_vmmserver_amd64.msp Note If you manually download update packages from Microsoft Download Center and install them by double-clicking the packages, you have to install the packages as an administrator.
