This article describes the improvements that are included and the issues that are fixed in the March 2016 update for Microsoft Azure Backup.
Improvements that are includedAzure Backup uploads file catalog information to the Azure cloud for all backups. This file catalog helps customers to recover individual files and folders of a backup instead of recovering a complete backup. This upload process was programmed to time out after 12 hours. This is now increased to 24 hours to accommodate the backup of large data sources. Also, some improvements are made to back up data sources larger than 16 terabytes (TB).
Issues that are fixed
- For large data sources, a file catalog upload can take a long time to finish. This can cause the backup engine to crash.
- Alternative DPM recovery fails when many data sources are protected.
- You cannot reconfigure the backup schedule after you delete some folders in a backed-up volume.
- Some backup scenarios may fail because of a backup engine crash.
