Symptoms

After you connect to Exchange Server 2013 by using an online mode profile, you may receive a non-delivery report (NDR) after you click Accept or Decline on a new meeting request.

For example, consider the following scenario:

  • The server is running Exchange Server 2013 with Cumulative Update 9 or a later cumulative update applied.

  • Your Outlook client is configured to use an online mode profile.

  • You accept or decline a new incoming meeting request.

In this scenario, you receive an NDR for the meeting update that was sent to the meeting organizer. Additionally, the organizer receives the following error message:

NDR 554 5.6.0 STOREDRV.Submit.Exception:TextConvertersException.

Cause

This issue occurs because RTF attributes for the meeting item disrupt correct handling of the message's native body.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install Cumulative Update 13 for Exchange Server 2013 or a later cumulative update for Exchange Server 2013.

Workaround

To work around this issue, switch your Outlook profile from online mode to cached mode. Then, you can accept or decline meeting requests without receiving the NDR.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
