Symptoms

You run the sys.dm_hadr_availability_group_states dynamic management view (DMV) against a secondary replica of a Microsoft SQL Server Always On availability group. In this scenario, the DMV always displays "NOT_HEALTHY" in the synchronization_health_desc column even when the replica is healthy.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 6 for SQL Server 2016 RTM

Cumulative Update 3 for SQL Server 2016 SP1

Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2014 SP2

Cumulative Update 12 for SQL Server 2014 SP1

Cumulative Update 8 for SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 3
