Check the power cable connection
Problems with Surface Studio models can sometimes be solved by making sure your power supply connections are firmly secured.
When you unplug the power cable from your Surface Studio or Surface Studio 2, unplug it from the wall first. The plug that’s attached to the base has a lock to keep it in place when you move your Surface Studio or Surface Studio 2. If you need to unplug the power cable from the base, slide the plug away from the base to release the lock.
I can’t find the power indicator light
There’s no power indicator light on Surface Studio models. If the power is on and your Surface Studio model isn’t sleeping or hibernating, the screen should be on. If the screen isn’t on, touch the screen, move your mouse, or press the power button to turn it on.
My Surface Studio or Surface Studio 2 won’t turn on
If you see a black screen with no Windows logo or your Surface Studio model seems to be turned off or in a power-saving state and you can’t wake it, first try pressing and releasing the power button. Wait several seconds. If that doesn’t work, try this:
On your keyboard, simultaneously press the Windows logo key + Ctrl+Shift+B. You should hear a short beep while Windows tries to refresh the screen.
If that doesn’t work, force a restart:
Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds until the screen turns off, then release the power button. Press and release the power button to turn Surface Studio back on.
If that doesn’t work, press and hold down the power button for 15-20 seconds. The screen will turn off, but keep holding down the power button. After restart, you’ll see the Windows logo screen, and then the Windows sign-in screen. Then, release the power button.
When I try to wake my Surface Studio model from sleep, the screen turns black and I have to restart it
Make sure you have the latest updates. Select the Start button, then select Settings > Update and security > Windows Update > Check for updates. If any updates are available, install them.
