Note To apply this security update, you must have the release version of Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office 2013 installed.
Be aware that the update in the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2013. It doesn't apply to the Office 2013 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home (see What version of Office am I using?).
Improvements and fixes
This update makes improvements so that Excel 2013 can use the new Japanese era when it becomes available.
- This update provides this functionality for the 64-bit version of Excel 2013 only. To enable this functionality of the 32-bit version, install the update 4462209.
To enable these improvements, you have to install the following updates together with this update.
