Applies to: Project Professional 2016Project Standard 2016

This article describes update 4484116 for Microsoft Project 2016 that was released on October 1, 2019.

Be aware that the update in the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2016. It doesn't apply to the Office 2016 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home (see What version of Office am I using?).

Improvements and fixes

This update improvestranslations of timeline date formats in the Finnish language of Project 2016.

It also fixes the following issues:
  • If youtype notes on the Notes page which is accessed through the Update Tasks form, thenotes aren't saved.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • A user goes to Windows Explorer and clicks on afile in order to directly open it in Project.
    • Whilethe first user has the file open, another user opens the same project.
In this situation, the subsequent user sees a message that states"<File Name> is locked for editing by ' '. " The user name thatalready has the file opened should appear in the message but does not.
  • The WrapText function doesn't always automatically adjust row heights to enlargecells as expected.
  • Importing resources to Project Server fails withan "An error occurred during import" error message. In some cases, you also see an "An enterprise calendar must be chosen for thisresource" message for certain resources in the "Errors" columnon the Validation Resources page of the import wizard.
  • Afteryou replace a completed enterprise resource with a local resource, Projectcrashes while you save the project.
