Improvements of the interoperability between Skype for Business 2016 and Teams

Van toepassing: Skype for Business 2016

Summary

This update includes the following interoperability improvements between Microsoft Skype for Business 2016 and Teams:
  • The Skype for Business 2016 client presence status is updated according to the Teams client status when the Teams client is in a meeting or screen sharing. When a user joins a meeting by using Teams, the user’s status in Skype for Business 2016 is changed to "In a conference call."  When the user shares the screen by using Teams, the user’s status in Skype for Business 2016 is changed to "Presenting" if Show me as Do Not Disturb when I share my desktop is selected in the Skype for Business 2016 options dialog box.

Note To enable this update, you have to create a Group Policy Object (GPO) to add a new DWORD registry key EnableStatusSyncInInterop, and set the value to 1 in the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync
  • The Skype for Business 2016 client places the current conference on "Hold" if the Teams client makes or receives a call while Skype for Business 2016 is in a conference.
