FIX: You may receive incorrect object_id after you switch a partition in SQL Server 2017 and 2019

Symptoms


When you query the Dynamic Management Views (DMV) sys.dm_db_index_operational_stats in SQL Server 2017 or 2019, you may notice that the object_id returned by the DMV forthe swapped partitions is incorrect after you switch apartition from one table to another table.

Status


Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:
