FIX: Non-yielding scheduler dump occurs in InterlockedCompareExchangePointer and SOS_RWLock in SQL Server 2016, 2017 and 2019

Symptoms


Assume that you use transactional replication in Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2017, or 2019. When the workload on the publication database is heavy, a non-yielding scheduler dump occurs in InterlockedCompareExchangePointer andSOS_RWLock.

Status


Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. 

Resolution


This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:
