Symptoms

Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 crashes when you receive an incoming instant message notification.

Additionally, you receive the following error message in the Communicator UCCAPI log:

GetHeader 10/16/2009|13:03:44.862 1260:1004 WARN :: pSipMessage->GetHeader() Failed in function ParsePCalledPartyIdHeader 10/16/2009|13:03:44.862 1260:1004 ERROR :: CUccServerEndpoint::ProcessIncomingCall - Failed to parse P-Called-Pary-ID header

Cause

This problem occurs when the XML for the incoming conversation is deserialized.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, apply the following update:

  • 976135 Description of the Communicator 2007 R2 cumulative update: January 2010

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
