This article describes the PowerPoint 2010 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated February 22, 2011.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You implement Information Rights Management (IRM) protection on a Microsoft SharePoint document library.

    • You try to open an Office PowerPoint presentation from the document library by using the Download a copy feature on a computer that has PowerPoint 2010 installed.

    In this scenario, PowerPoint 2010 cannot open the presentation. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

    Filename.pptx is currently in use. PowerPoint cannot modify it at this time.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You have a Visual Basic add-in that starts together with Office PowerPoint 2010.

    • Your default printer is a network printer. The network printer takes a long time to connect.

    • You start Office PowerPoint 2010.

    In this scenario, Office PowerPoint 2010 may stop responding.

  • 2500676 A placeholder in an Office PowerPoint 2003 presentation may not have the same properties when you alter the copied placeholder in the presentation in PowerPoint 2010
