Cumulative update packages for Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 contain hotfixes for the SharePoint Foundation 2010 issues that were fixed since the release of SharePoint Foundation 2010.
Note This is build 14.0.6106.5002 of the cumulative update package.
We recommend that you test hotfixes before you deploy them in a production environment. Because the builds are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and security updates that were included with the previous SharePoint Foundation 2010 update package releases.
Important notes about the cumulative update package
The Microsoft Office 2010 hotfixes are now multilingual. This cumulative update package contains updates for all languages.
This cumulative update package includes all the server component packages. Additionally, this cumulative update package updates only those components that are installed on the system.
Known issue 1
After you install an earlier build of this hotfix, the following services may fail at either runtime or the provision process if you run these services by using a user account other than the farm administrator account:
Session State Service
Secure Store Service
Business Data Connectivity (BDC) Service
Note This issue is fixed in build 14.0.6106.5002 of this hotfix package.
Known issue 2
After you install this hotfix, you must restart the User Profile Synchronization Service for profile synchronization to work correctly.
To work around this issue, follow these steps:
Visit Central Administration.
Click Mange Services on the System Settings section.
Find User Profile Synchronization Service in the list of services and then click Stop if its status is Started. Click Start and provide the credentials to start the User Profile Synchronization Service as soon as its status is Stopped.
After you install the June 2011 cumulative update refresh package you must run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard (PSConfigUI.exe). This will run the upgrade and update the farm to the latest version. This step is required to make sure that you have full SharePoint functionality. The farm will run if you do not run PSConfigUI.exe. However, the farm will have reduced capacity. For example, search will be unable to index content.
