Summary

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 hotfix package that is dated August 30, 2011.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that a Document Set contains multiple shared fields in a SharePoint Server 2010 document library, and one of the shared fields is a managed metadata field. When you do not select a value for the managed metadata field, some shared field properties cannot be inherited by the documents in the Document Set.

  • When you try to save an audit trail report in a SharePoint Server 2010 site collection, you are directed to save the report to a default location where it cannot be saved. Additionally, you receive the following general error message:

Error An unexpected error has occurred.

  • Assume that you rename a document library that contains a Document Set in SharePoint Server 2010. When you visit the Document Set, the breadcrumb that is on the top of page displays an incorrect document library name.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You add a folder that has an expiration policy applied to a SharePoint Server 2010 document library.

    • You add an item to the folder, and then you create a hold for the item.

    • You run the expiration policy job in the document library.

In this scenario, you expect the folder to be deleted, but you do not expect the item to be deleted.

  • Assume that you create Business Connectivity Services (BCS) columns on a Document Set in SharePoint Server 2010. If you do not select a value for any of the columns, you cannot create the Document Set successfully.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • In a SharePoint Server 2010 document library, you create a folder whose name contains an accent character.

    • You upload a file to the folder.

    • You try to add the file’s link to the home page.

    • You open the Asset Picker to find the folder that you created.

In this scenario, you can find the folder. However, the file that you uploaded is not displayed in the folder.
