Update Rollup 1 for Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard is available

Update Rollup 1 for Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard is now available.

This update fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article. Additionally, this update adds a new feature.

Issue 1

The following alert notifications do not appear in Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard:
  • "An error prevented Backup from completing successfully"
  • "An error prevented Backup from starting"
  • "The server restarted"
  • "The server shut down unexpectedly"

Issue 2

Assume that you select a language that is not the default installation language on the Remote Web Access logon webpage of Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard. In this situation, you cannot log on to Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard through the Remote Web Access webpage. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
Remote Web Access is not allowed for your user account. Contact the person who manages your server.

Issue 3

When you run the Active Directory Group Converter Wizard (Groupconverter.exe) in Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard, the wizard is named "Windows SBS "7" Active Directory Group Converter" incorrectly.

Issue 4

The Remote Web Access webpage takes longer than expected to load a shared folder. The load time increases if there are more shared folders.

Note Each shared folder takes about one second to load.

Issue 5

Consider the following scenario:
  • You route faxes to a Microsoft SharePoint website in Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard.
  • You open Fax Center to view the received faxes.
In this scenario, the "Name of sender," "Caller ID," and "Time received" columns for these faxes are blank. Only the number of pages and the TIFF file names are displayed.

Issue 6

After you install a SharePoint update in Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard, the following event is logged in the Application event log:

Log Name: Application
Source: Microsoft-SharePoint Products-SharePoint Foundation
Date: <date & time>
Event ID: 2137
Task Category: Health
Level: Error
User: <user name>
Computer: <computer name>
The SharePoint Health Analyzer detected an error. Product / patch installation or server upgrade required.
All required products must be installed on all servers in the farm, and all products should have the same patching and upgrade level across the farm.

Upgrade is required on server <server name>. Without the upgrade, the server is not in a supported state.
On server <server name>, once all required products and/or patches are installed, perform an upgrade by either running PSConfigUI.exe or by executing the command "PSConfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures". If a former upgrade attempt has failed, you may need to resolve upgrade specific issues before attempting upgrade again. Refer to the upgrade status page (URL) for information about current and prior upgrade attempts, and to determine issues that may be preventing upgrade from succeeding. For more information about this rule, see "".

Note To complete the installation, you must manually run the PSConfig utility.

New feature

This update adds the following alert to Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard. The alert appears when a domain administrator logs on to a server that is running Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard or a client computer. The alert appears if the PSConfig utility was not run after a SharePoint update was installed.

Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard Health Alert

An update for Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 was installed on your Small Business Server. You must now complete the installation process by running the PSConfig utility to update the SharePoint databases. If you do not run PSConfig, some features of the server may not function correctly.
