This article describes the Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated August 30, 2011.  

INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You have a PowerPoint presentation that contains an OLE object.

    • The OLE object is disconnected from the server.

    • You open the PowerPoint presentation.

    In this scenario, PowerPoint 2010 cannot display the object image.

  • Assume that you create a hyperlink in a slide that connects to another slide in a PowerPoint 2010 presentation. You set a tooltip for the hyperlink. In this case, when you put the pointer over the hyperlink in a PowerPoint 2010 slide show, no tooltip appears.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
