Summary

This article describes the Microsoft Excel 2010 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated December 16, 2011.

INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you input some data into a cell in an Excel 2010 workbook. The vertical text alignment of the cell is set to Center. After you add a new line in the cell, the data in the cell that is below the new line is displayed incorrectly.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You import some data from a SQL Server Analysis Services cube into an Excel 2010 workbook.

    • The Refresh data when opening the file option is enabled in the workbook.

    • You save and close the workbook.

    • You change the display language in Excel 2010 and then open the workbook.

In this scenario, the data in the columns of the workbook is displayed in the wrong language.

  • When you change the height of a row that contains data in Excel 2010, and then you sort a column that contains data, the height change is not applied to the corresponding data.

  • Assume that you apply new border settings to cells in an Excel 2010 worksheet. When you try to change the settings of the inner borders, the new inner border settings are not applied.

  • When you use the Workbooks.Open method to open more than one workbook, and the workbooks have external data sources, Excel 2010 crashes.

  • Assume that you have a pivot table that groups some items in a workbook. The pivot table is connected to a server whose cube was modified since the last time that the pivot table was refreshed. When you update the workbook in Excel 2010, you receive the following error message:

A PivotTable, cube function or slicer using connection Server name has failed to refresh. Continue to refresh all?

  • The Japanese version of Excel 2010 crashes when a multithreaded calculation occurs.

  • Assume that you set the Calculation option to Manual in Excel 2010. When you update certain values in a workbook and then manually run the calculation, either the conditional formatting is not updated or the sparklines are not updated.

  • 2597039 A shape in a worksheet is displayed in an incorrect size after you print preview multiple worksheets in Excel 2010.
