GDI objects are not displayed correctly on multiple monitors in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario:
  • You connect multiple monitors to a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • A user remotely connects to the computer by using a remote application that uses a mirror driver (for example, Remote Assistance).
  • You run an application that uses the EnumDisplayMonitors function to display some Graphics Device Interface (GDI) objects.
In this scenario, the GDI objects are not displayed correctly.
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the EnumDisplayMonitors function may provide a corrupted hdc parameter if a mirror driver is loaded.
