Symptoms

Assume that you add a form control to a workbook in Microsoft Excel 2010, and then you select the Automatic Size check box for the form control. When you print the workbook, the form control is displayed in the wrong position in the printout and on the computer.

Note Every time that you move the form control back to the original position and then print the workbook, the form control is displayed in a different position in the printout and on the computer.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, apply the following update:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.

  2. Locate and then select the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\Options

  3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.

  4. Type MultiSheetPrint, and then press Enter.

  5. In the Details pane, right-click MultiSheetPrint, and then click Modify.

  6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

  7. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.

  8. Type LegacyAnchorResize, and then press Enter.

  9. In the Details pane, right-click LegacyAnchorResize, and then click Modify.

  10. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

  11. Exit Registry Editor.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
